Schizo #1 - Ivan Brunetti

I have been feeling like the female equivalent to Ivan Brunetti lately. In the spirit of melancholic misanthropy, and because Matt was curious as to who Ivan Brunetti is...

Optic Nerve #2 (Sleepwalk)

I just finished reading all of Optic Nerve by Adrien Tomine and let me say I am infatuated. I can't describe the feeling that surfaces, or the tone, or anything of the sort because it does so itself. Here is a little taste of his first collection of Optic Nerve comics "Sleepwalk." I again, seriously recommend picking this up. You will not regret it.

Like a Velvet Glove Cast In Iron #1-10

I know this is still in print, so please buy it. Daniel Clowes is easily one of my favourite comic book artists and writers. His drawings melt my brain, and his strangely unpretentious yet weirdly interesting storylines make me happy to be alive. Either way, for those who are poor or curious, please enjoy Like A Velvet Glove Cast In Iron.

Wimmen's Comix #15

Another one for Dan. He just loves women that much.

A Couple of Winos - Charles Bukowski

Kill Your Boyfriend - Grant Morrison

Wonderful.
Hakim Bey explains much, "Avatars of chaos act as spies, saboteurs, criminals of amour fou, neither selfless nor selfish, accessible as children, mannered as barbarians, chafed with obsessions, unemployed, sensually deranged, wolfangels, mirrors for contemplation, eyes like flowers, pirates of all signs & meanings."

Read this and feel romantic for all the wrong reasons.

Eightball #8 - Daniel Clowes

One of my favourite comics of all time is in this issue of Daniel Clowes' Eightball. The first story is a continuation from previous issues (which I recommend reading!), so I'd skip straight to the first one-off "Ugly Girls". An exerpt of awesome follows:

Bizarre Sex #5

Bizarre Sex is fucking excellent. My favourites in this issue include Joe Coleman (epics!) and the Joel Beck tampon awesomeness. There's also some Robert Crumb in this issue. Srsly awesome.

The Cunt Coloring Book - Tee Corinne

Not necessarily a conventional comic by any means, but what isn't good that starts out with cunt?
